Once again, my lack of knowledge springs to the surface as I would like to know if a manifold for twin weber carbs fitted to a 131/124/132 will sit properly on a beta?
Also, will fast road cams for a fiat work in the beta?

The manifold won't work as the Beta engine is canted over but the FIAT engines are vertical.

Cams could be ok, but it will depend on what engine they are from/for.

It is possible to make up a 20 deg adaptor so the carbs will sit horizontal. Of course if you were planning throttle bodies and injection they'd be fine without.

Best investment you could make is the new guy croft book, it might seem expensive but it has more information on twin cams and engine rebuilding/tuning than anything else absolutely packed full of clearly explained technical information. Tread carefully with mix n match across the twin cam variants as there are lots of unexpected/inexplicable differences

Is the new book worth spending all that money on if you have the first book? I've read it several times now!

I figured the canted engine would be an issue but I was hopeful all the same.
I will have to invest in the Guy Croft  book as I now think the time I will save not asking silly questions will justify the cost of it.
Thanks for the prompt replies and for taking the time to answer.

there are differences because of the front wheel drive and others because the twin cam was constantly evolving even Beta engines have differences between one another according to capacity, build date etc. confused further by the fact that UK stock was not always sold all that fast and often not in build date order either!

It's not THAT bad really but you'll need to get used to it as the same sort off issues come up with all beta parts and Italian cars in general
