I'm joining an Alfa convoy who will be meeting at the Peak Village Outlet shopping centre DE4 2JE for 10 A.M. for a convoy arrival into Chatsworth. Nothing looks better than all of the marques parked up with eachother rather than being spread out, so if you're coming along, then please add your name to the list (copy & paste).

MITCAR is always a good event and still affordable at £5 entry. Hopefully the gate price won't rise above this for future events otherwise it will go the way of Auto Italia's Stanford Hall event which has become a rip off. Chatsworth is a stunning venue and well worth the long drive IMHO.

Mitcar had a fantastic amount of cars (c430) at Chatsworth House ranging from original Fiat 500's up to a Ferrari F40. There was a good selection of Lancia's along with a really good turn out of Thema's, around 12 in all. A Hawk Stratos won "best Lancia" award!

It was a pretty good day and stunning setting. Not many Betas though. Steve T. turned up in his lovely red VX Coupe, there was another black IE Coupe which was ok and a couple of spiders and the odd Monte plus a nice show of Themas, 2 Ferrari engined ones as well and the Hawk Stratos. A gorgeos navy blue Flaminia Zagato 2.8C turned up mid afternoon. There were a few Integrales as well. Some one only had to show off the 4WD capability by doing a few donuts just to make sure we won't be invited back any time soon.

A phalanx Fiat 20v Coupes got pride of place along the top wall in front of the main house with Ferraris to the left and lots and lots of Alfas below. Didn't see any Lambas, Aurelias or other oldetimer Lancias. And then there were the new Fiats right down the bottom, some Fiat group that was creating a lot of noise with their car radios until they were told to turn them off. Ha!

Otherwise a very good day. Not as good as the Silverstone Classic though, but still pretty good.

It was £5 to get into the MITCAR car park or £2 to use the main car park.

Only down side was the loos had a drainage problem which meant they were a bit ......... unpleasant.

And the traffic leaving ...................... it took forever.

I have to say that kind of annoys me as nothing against them as such but a Hawk isn't a Lancia, they ought to have a kit car/heavy modified section

The owner told me that the marshalls asked him to "give it some" along the track beside the wall where the super cars were parked, but he declined due to the public that were walking around. Also "doing a few donuts"?? a donut involves spinning the car through atleast one 360 degree spin, thus "donuts" would be a multiple of 360 degree spins, whereas this particular person only "spun" the car around through 180 degrees so as to have the car facing the opposite direction to park up again.

Yes, this was an odd one, you're part of the days attractions yet you have to pay more to park amongst the cars, but on the otherside, we did receive discounted admission into the house and gardens. Your choice of where to park at the end of the day.

We left at around 5.30 and had no real trouble in leaving.
