Took my Beta out yesterday and for some reason I opened the boot.  Glad I did the as the underside of the boot lid was soaking wet as was the bulkhead above the spare wheel.

My guess would be the seal hadn't been able to handle the heavy rain the day before.

I can't afford to build a garage until next year so I've been and bought an outside cover but I'd still like to know the cause so I can fix it.

Have you solved this problem?
mine has same problem and I fix it changing the two little rubber grommet at the top of the rear lights.
Now is perfectly dry..

In cold weather the underside of the boot can be a real condensation generator, being such a flat panel. Not sure of any cure to this if you keep the car outside?
