best colour for an early Beta absolutely in tune with it's era seats look unusual have they been reupholstered? I would have thought it would have had lurid green velvet cloth inside or  was it originally 100% vinyl?

Seats are original and never been re upholstered, and yes i agree they are a very comfortable seat. As for the colour i like it too, it's a fungus colour cause it grows on you Grin.

LOL I like that !

My first Series 1 Coupe had those seats, only in the rather fetching bright orange velour - being 6 foot 4" + I found them very comfy...which was a surprise!

Well at last it's happening, the shed is up the car is in and work has started. After pulling her out of the dusty hole she has been in i gave her a bath and towed her to her new home. I couldn't wait so started pulling her apart straight away. Some parts are better than i expected and some parts are worse, overall though it's about what i thought, a lot of work so this may take some time. here's some pic's of what i've done thus far. Need to pull the engine, drop the fuel tank and take out the front and rear screens and she's a bare shell, then i've got to make a rotisserie for her and i'm thinking of making a sandblaster too.

I've seen worse. In a lot of places that just looks like surface rust.

What are the rear wings and turrets like?

(Still massively envious of your new facility but I've noticed you've got a Red Dwarf quote in your sig so I'll forgive)

Hi Stuart, rear wings and turrets appear to be fine though the bottom rear corners of the car are both rusty. As for the shed, certainly need to finish getting power hooked up and shelves and benches knocked up cause it's literally a car on a concrete floor at the moment. Cheesy

Nice shed Mate! Hoping to get one built myself next year (unless the new kitchen comes first of course...)

Funnily enough my 75 coupe was originally exactly the same colour but I chickened out when I rebuilt it and painted it red!

Good luck with the restoration and keep us updated !

Cheers Ian
