Help /info Please
There is a short electrical cable circa 20 cm with a male spade terminal at the back of the Weber 34 DMTR Carburetor
Clearly it should be connected to somewhere in the engine bay but I cannot see where ?
Where does it connect to and what is its function?
Thanks

Hi

Sounds like the fuel cutoff solenoid. Check the wiring diagram where on your car where it connects to on the loom

Hi John

Sounds about right as it is a red wire from memory on mine.

Such a small cable in length so have been trying to find a similar size female spade terminal around the carbs location but nothing visable
Carb seems to be sucking a bit to much air on idle and appears erratic anything from 700 to 1100 rpm , carb fine under load so was  wondering if this was down to the unconectted wire ?

A bit from memory but from shut off device on carb, the red wire joins a plastic covered connector (about 20cm). The other side of the connector joins the loom near starter and pops out near the coil.

Not sure it would be related as it just shuts fuel off or not.

If you put 12v on the spade connector you should hear it click, and again when removing 12v
