I am a proud owner of this light blue beta coupe 1600. I found the car in Rome, from a private collection (1. owner was a 71-years old Italian gentleman). It was build in 1980, with only 17.800 kilometers on display. The car is rust free, and in great condition. One year ago the seller put this advert

https://asimarket.it/directory/lancia-beta-coupe-1600-102cv/

but the car didn't sell for 17.000 euros. After a year the seller lost hope and has delivered tha car to this trader in Rome

https://www.linkmotors.it/dettaglio_epoca.asp?id_auto=1194494&marca=LANCIA&modello=Beta

I bought the car without a trip to Rome to see it ... I have paid the asked price (13.500 euros or 11.200 british pounds ...), the car is allready in Ljubljana, i saw it on last friday for the first time in 'flesh'. I hope that you all, beta fans will like my new old car ... This is my second car, for everyday use i have a fiat punto 1,2 16 v (bought new in 2006, the car was born in 2005, 54.000 km till today ...)

Have a nice day ... Marko

It looks a beautiful example to find in original condition.
I hope you enjoy and welcome to the Beta family.

Marko,
Your car is a fine and lovely example. Well found!

Was the engine size a factor in your purchase or perhaps
it didn't matter to you?

Best of motoring to you.

Nigel, thanks for nice words about my beta. Yes, i have chosen the 1,6 litre engine as a best option (the Classic & Sports Car thinks that 1,6-litre engine is the sweetest...), because it's a compromise between 1,3 (screamer) and 2,0 (torky). I didn't buy the beta to demonstrate the car is fast, because it is allready looking fast ... And my days as a 'boy racer' are over, because i'm not the youngest anymore. I enjoy in the lines of my beta coupe, i could seat by the car for hours and just admire the lines of Aldo Castagno & Pietro Castagnero ... I did drive a beta 1300 coupe 30 years ago, the sound of the engine is so sweet that you never need the radio, but the performance wasn't that good. You have to push the revs all the time and that kills the fuel economy ... In my opinion the middle option (not the weakest and not the strongest engine ..) is the best option (it's torky enough and it loves to revs too ...), so i didn't search for 2,0 litre betas or the VX ...

Well that's my opinion, it doesn't mean that my opinion is the best opinion, hehe

Hello Sandro, thanks for the kind words. The funny thing is that bouth my cars (beta & punto) have the some color (azzuro metalizzato), and to be honest, i didn't search for betas ... i write articles about cars for living, so i write for one of Slovenian oldtimer car associations (we have two ...) too. One sunday, when i was preparing a new text i stumbled upon and advert on the https://www.classic-trader.com/ and there she was, my blue beta ...

In the couple of days i have realized that this is the car that i want ... So i started the negotiations to buy this beta, because i was afraid that some other beta lover would buy the car, and now she's mine forever (i hope ...)

Have a nice day ... You all have a nice and good looking betas too ...
