Having got the car up and running recently and through the MOT today, my attention will be on chasing a couple of intermittent things and a few wiring connections that could be improved.
I could clean up the original earth rings by the lights again but wondered whether there was an alternative available to buy or whether to convert connectors to ring type and bolt directly.
Open to suggestions.

Hi Marcus

I replaced all mine with ring type and had no issues. If the spade connectors are old you may find it is the wire to spade which is giving the issue rather than the body/star connection.

Hi Marcus

Peter is right the actual earth wires corrode along the wire needing new wire! New plated stars with a well cleaned shell connection and terminal anti corrosion grease should work well. If you use the cabin loom earth connectors you can connect more. For vital earths running them to the Negative terminal bolt with ring terminals is best.

Thanks for that chaps, a temperamental light earth looks to be the beginning of full remove, repair and clean operation. Hopefully be the fix for another issue…
