Hi All

Anyone know which of the spade connections is the indicator connection on this alternator? The old one is faulty electrically and I bought this many moons ago as a spare, but it gives me too many connections and no indication of which is which....

Marelli 63303700

I have tried to search the web, but this particular one does not appear.

This won't necessarily help you,but that's a fairly low amp rating.
I thought Betas had at least a 55 amp unit.
Mine is 65 amp.

Agreed, but I think it is ok for my car for now as I have no extra load for now apart from Halogen lights and and have replaced rest of lights with less so will see how it goes.

Hi Peter

I agree with Nigel on this one. You would be better to sell it on. The factory thought 55AMPs was needed with standard cars and low powered 1970s stereos and factory lights. Along with a battery with a decent AH and CCA rating this is just building in reliability. Today I would add the reduction gear starter which no one can see but is excellent at kicking these cars into life.

I have 65AMPs but actually considered using a 90AMP unit. Some historic items are best for museum display!

Thanks for the input. I will look to changing it in due course, though a little way off even thinking about starting the engine, which I have never yet done (the previous owner had regularly run it I understandJ, so that may need some attention before we worry about alternator power output!
