Hi

This is off my pre f/l Spider and I know it fits somewhere near the dash and steering column, but unsure exactly where I removed it from........

It looks like it may attach to the column and then to the body, but if anyone can confirm the exact position, that would be great!

Peter

This has stumped me completely. I can't remember seeing anything like. It's possible it came off still attached to one of the bigger components but no idea which.

Hi Stuart

I think I have sorted out the only place it can go and will share a photo when I have it installed and confirmed it makes sense!

I do wonder if this was on the S1 and was a leftover on my car as the body is part S1. See photo as to where I located it.

I cannot remember exactly, but think it goes here. Not sure it makes much difference to the structure, but is useful to tie the cables to. It does look original, but it does not clear the small cable which is attached to the accelerator very well.

Any comments?

Peter

Is there a possibility that a motorcycle part got mixed in with your spares? That looks suspiciously lke a rear motorcycle brake torque arm. My 350LC has something similar to that - a piece of tube flattened at both ends and with a hole drilled in each flattened section.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Hi Graham

Absolutely no chance, no motorbikes here ever, never even been on one.....

It definitely came out of the car. The curious thing is the bolt which supports it on the wing. This has the feel of an add on.

The benefit is that it does support the wiring.

Could be a mod by a previous owner. If it has benefit I'd keep it. But certainly a bit of a head-scratcher.

I have Never seen one of those before and I have been up close with a lot of Beta shells over the years. I think a previous owner added it to make the column more less prone to flexing sideways with steering wheel input.
