this forum is proving to be a handy bit of kit!

next question then to all you fellow friends with such good taste in cars.

the suspension lowering springs available from this consortium. Has anyone tried them? How much do they lower the car? is the ride comprimised?

Never used them myself - i feel the car is low enough as is and worry about ground clearance B-U-T.

If you do use lowering kits be prepared to re adjust the rear brake bias valve.
Any form of lowering will give this valve the impression that you have weight in the back and therefore will allow more fluid to the rear brakes - this results in the brakes being slightly out of balance and makes the them spongier than normal .... you may not notice at first - most definitely noticeable when you do an emergency stop.

Once adjusted brakes return to normal, Haynes manual covers this adjustment quite well.

I have the betaboyz lowering springs fitted to my HPE, and it is an improvement in the stiffness while not lowering the car too much; i'm quite happy with them. The thing that has transformed the handling is the Spax inserts and poly bushes.
What a difference to the standard set up  Shocked

had my springs fitted for 5 years/ 40,000 miles now, and never had a problem with ground clearence
and as Marcus says with the Spax inserts and poly bushes it handles like it on rails

when we had the heavy snow this year, out of the 15 people I work with my Coupe and a older Seat Cordoba were the only cars that managed to make through the snow into our yard
