Hi everyone

Good news! We've got a Lancia Beta stand in Hall 5 at this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC, Birmingham.

Please let me know if you have a Beta that you'd like to show.

Yes - Peter's right. I'd like to offer mine up after all these years of it being hidden away.

John, I suspect that Steve Thompson might show his vx if you twisted his arm...

Hi Tony

And the shock news is "the scum of all car clubs" have been given the stand next to you after being banished for a number of years!

The Montecarlo Consortium is back.

Roll on the NEC.

Eric

Obviously we have not yet organised anything more than places to sleep, but if we can get a Monte turbo and an 037 plus S1 & S2 it will be a good stand. Anyone with an 037 they can lend for the weekend!

So my bribe to the organisers to put you in Hall 1 did not work.....

I am sure someone will lend you one, given your previous good behaviour.

Any thoughts on a theme for the show this year yet?

I should also say well done and it is well deserved as your cars at least were well missed.

Is your car slated to be on the stand, it would be good to get a look at it?

Hi Peter

The show theme is Running in the Family hence the 037 Monte Turbo S1 S2 idea. I doubt mine will be there it does not fit the scheme, but we will see.

Cheers

Hi Tony

After many comedy years in the Coventry Hell Hole (Hill House) we have gone all luxury with the Best Western opposite. There is only so much MRSA a man can enjoy!

That's a shame Theo. I love seeing cars like the Gamma at shows for the' when did I last see one of them' moment. Not enough of them at the NEC.

I'm thinking of going to the festival of the unexceptional at Stowe just to see what pops up. Wonder if a Beta qualifies ?

Hi Theo

It is a shame, but maybe they are playing you off against the Monte crowd?

Can you organise one on the LMC stand?

Stuart, I think that a Beta Saloon would most likely, but doubt anything else (discuss....?)

Ok, back to the thread...

John/Tony, I will be there Thurs/Friday as per normal to help, so if you could put me down on the list that would be appreciated.

shame the Gamma's didn't get a stand  Sad might be worth speaking to Simon D (LMC) to see if you can at least get one on their stand ?
Thanks for your offer of help again Peter, always much appreciated, thanks you. Anyone else able to spare some time to help man the stand please let us know.

I've not booked a hotel yet, do we stay at the same hotel as the Monte Boyz ? , last time I'm sure I said never again  Grin Grin

Hi everybody
Less than a week until the Classic Car Show, NEC Birmingham. We have 4 Betas to display: a Bangkok Yellow Berlina (true name), a beautiful early Series 2 Coupe, a superb Volumex Coupe and a meticulously restored Spider.

We are next to the Lancia Motor Club and Montecarlo Consortium in Hall 5, our stand number is 5-438. Please see Hall map already posted in this thread.

Please drop by and see us at the show!

I had  a very enjoyable hour chatting to Tony, Smithy and a couple of other friendly guys - the 8v Integrale and the Gamma guy. Lovely selection of cars, thanks for putting the effort into getting the cars there and what have you. I can't see my Beta Coupe being ready for a while yet but I did get to sit in the brown one and enjoy the unique interior. Wandering around looking at the other cars, it's clear that Lancias were well built in their day. Thanks for storing the bumper for me too. Rich

NEC 2017 Another very successfully show  Cheesy
Worked really well together with the Lancia Motor Club, and Montecarlo Consortium, looked like one large Lancia club, we even jointly won the Classic and Sports Car Award for stand with the best variation of cars  Grin

Many Thanks to James, Steve, Justin and Mark for displaying their cars, 4 beautiful examples  Smiley

Thanks to John Bower for organising the stand/cars and dealing with all the NEC paperwork  Shocked

Also thanks to everyone who help man the stand over the 3 days, and Peter who somehow managed to borrow a high ladder from an electrician, so we could reposition  the upside down LMC sign (at the top of the tower)

We had lots of interest from the public, and hopefully we may gain a few younger members  Smiley
