It's been a long time coming, but my orange 1978 Beta Spider finally got back on the road on Friday.  I bought it back in January 2013 and had intended to get it ready last year, but life intervened..

The basic car was very sound, and the original style interior is fantastic, but it did need a bit of mechanical work to make it run properly.  The fuel consumption was stratospheric, and my garage diagnosed a butchered carb.  Mark Wastnidge at BetaBoyz came to the rescue with a secondhand carb and all manner of other parts at very reasonable prices.  Thanks Mark!

I had a call on Friday to say that the Beta had passed its MOT with no advisories; just in time for the best weekend of the year.  It did 60 miles round the Cotswolds with no issues yesterday and attracted lots of attention!  Top down all the way of course..

VYT 624S spent the first twenty years or so in Dorset (Poole area).  It was stored between 2006 and 2013, and before that was owned for a few years by a gentleman in London I believe.  Does anyone know anything about its history?

I met a few people on the Beta stand at the NEC in November and had a chat with the owner of an HPE, which inspired me to get on with sourcing the parts to get my Spider going again.   Now looking forward to a few events over the Spring and Summer.
