I have spent the winter fitting a guy croft manifold and twin dellortos and have just taken her out for her first run. She sounds and runs great but have noticed the brake pedal travel is longer and the efficiency is reduced. Could this be because the vacuum is now from just one port of the inlet manifold and thus reduced and has anyone experienced this and if so have you come up with a solution

Cheers

Just out of interest have you left the non return valve in the line to the servo and did you test it?

I never noticed any difference with mine. I don't think your issue is related to your carbs, there is still plenty of vacuum available from 1 cylinder!

Make sure the check valve is ok in the vacuum hose to the servo and fitted the right way round.

The long pedal travel is more of a concern has anything else been done? Are any of the calipers partially seized?

Thanks for the advise

I have taken out the non return valve and it seem to be ok with the blow/suck test. Just been for a good run and the brakes while no better do not pull so don't think one could be stuck open

Chas you are right the torque is much improved and beautifully free revving why on earth didn't lancia fit them on new cars like Alfa what a fantastic improvement on performance Grin

Cheers
