I have a 2000ie coupe that is in need of struts on all 4 corners and, as a late model, it has the sealed struts. We all know how easy they are to get hold of, available at every local motor factors. Oh, wait, sorry, that was the 1980's, today they are more like unicorn poo. I picked up a set of early front struts that need new inserts for 40 just before christmas. Imagine my joy when a brand new set of sealed rears appeared on ebay recently. However, imagine my surprise when they went for 410!!!!!!! Holy moly!!! that's more than a pair of custom dampertech ones or even a couple of whole cars!!!! It's definitely worth more than my whole car!!

maybe I should sell my struts and buy another whole car!!

Yep, did appear to be somewhat excessive pricing (was commented on in another thread) and there was a question raised over if it was shill bidding by the seller.

I ordered a car set from Avanti Motorsport in Street, Somerset ( a few years ago. I knew the rears on the car were leaking, so thought I might as well get a full set while they were available. Apparently ordered from Italy and made to order. They have been sat on the shelf in the garage until recently, when I stripped the front suspension, reconditioning springs, cones and top mounts and rebuilt with the new shocks. It was then I noticed the new bodies were the ones with replaceable inserts! Result!
