No it's not. Most good motor factors will be able to get you one.

Doing some trawling the internet today came up with some handy links for timing belts:

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=mitsubishi+qtb123&source=web&cd=9&ved=0CG0QFjAI&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.adcoach.co.za%2Fcatalogues%2Fdoc_download%2F26-timing-belts-echlin&ei=IMztTvSyGMrOhAe24IWiCA&usg=AFQjCNE5vrGAfWBGf4tRjJsuOAa2keiH6Q

http://www.autoraid.ru/catalog/files/DAYCO_Cross_All.xls

Interestingly theres no listing for a 1" wide belt with the same tooth profile and 148 teeth.

So if you're ever struggling to find a belt here are the cross references, all for standard 19mm wide belts

Guy Croft can supply 1 inch wide belts for the twin cams.

The Dayco 94600 belt is for a Volvo S40 and has a rounded tooth form similar to the later Fiats and most other late car manufacturers - this design is better than the "square" early design on the Beta - the belt does not stick in the notches of the pulley as it goes round.

I too have yet to find the mythical 1" belt, and I have contact with a few belt suppliers in my line of work...

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Chaps

Once again no mystery involved just pick up the phone and ring Guy Croft he does not bite unless of course you want to "Slap a Turbo on it Mate". As he is an ex chief engineer from a Turbo engineering business he tends to have no time at all for reckless stupidity. However he will support mere mortals trying their best to get it right and why spend loads of time trying to find something someone far better inforned has already sourced?

Cheers

Eric,

I'm buying a load of bits and or work from Guy at the moment. In fact I spoke to him today. I could just ask about the belt but where's the fun in that?

Anyway the main point of the post is that I now have just about every reference for the standard belts I'm ever going to need!
