Title: Llandow - 21st July
Post by: lanciamad on April 08, 2010, 08:20:00 PM
I'm planning on going to Llandow this year sometime to do a track day; anyone else interested?
I've been to the circuit as a spectator, and it looks like great fun, similar to curborough but with the benefit of two longish straights and THE 'bus stop', looks like great fun to go around. I know a group booking is out of the question, but if a few of us are interested we should be able to tag along with another group, and make numbers up. At around £80 for the day you cant go wrong :)
Website:
http://www.llandow.com/ (http://www.llandow.com/)
No more than 10 cars are allowed out on track at any one time. Some controlled sighting laps to start allow the novice and more experienced user to gain confidence before being allowed to explore their own abilities with an open pit lane

Let me know of any interest and i'll keep a look out for any suitable dates later in the year.

Have had some details emailed to me about a track day at llandow on the 21st july, anyone interested? £95 for the day I believe, 8 cars on track at one time, 24-25 available places. Any more details I can forward or post on here. I quite fancy it, and yes passenger rides will be available (then i can blame being slow on weight in the car ;)) The car will still be running standard power then I expect but should still be a right laugh.

Officially booked in for the 21st July, really looking forward to it, will be the first bit of track action for me and the car this year, and with any luck the car should be developed a little bit more by then.
I believe the majority of cars going to be there will be classics, and there's not many places left; so if you've got nothing better to do, feel free to come along, bring a helmet, jump in the passenger seat, or get working with the spanners ;)

Provisional list of cars was emailed through to me the other day:

Mazda MX5
Triumph 2500PI saloon
AC Cobra rep
AC Cobra rep
Vauxhall VX 220 or Lotus Elan
BMW 325i
Minari
Morris Minor Zetec
Vauxhall Cavalier
Saab 900 T16
Sunbeam Tiger
Lotus Elise
Porsche 944
Peugeot 205
Minari
Westfield
Lancia Beta Estate
MGFN
Morris Traveller
Morris Traveller Zetec
Afternoon Only:
Daimler SP250N
TVR 460
Honda S2000
Lotus Elise

Quite a nice and unusual selection of vehicles for a track day, really looking forward to seeing the Morris zetec's! I will be the first to point the zetec part out as they tear past me ;D Car will be running standard, official 108bhp but a few more mods done since the last track day. Modified front suspension will be running negative camber, while testing the front poly strut tops good and proper! Will be first time with the battery in the back, hopefully it'll help the n/s/r to not lock so easily.
Just need to fit the car back together have the tracking adjusted and it'll be ready for a test run to the AGM.
