Title: Car covers Post by: George-S on July 17, 2021, 08:51:27 PM Hi all, In the relatively near future, I could be left without a Garage for my Coupe :( It's not impossible I will rent one but would like to avoid that ideally.... Unfortunately, I could have to leave it on my drive permanently, So would like to have some suggestions about protecting it. Obviously, car covers come to mind, so what good options are available? What to avoid ? Read some people leave small dehumidifier inside their cars on? Not sure if that would be effective... Any advice would be great. Just had the odd bit of condensation damage in strange places - like the heater duct on the dash - something you don't expect to go a bit rusty - but everything else was good.
Title: Re: Car covers Post by: WestonE on July 19, 2021, 10:44:55 AM So the best is an outdoor carcoon with some crystal dehumidifiers typically in the boot and interior. The kind I have needs drying in the airing cupboard every couple of months in winter. Because the carcoon has a battery charger and dehumidying air circulation they will always be better than a car cover even on hard standing.
I use a gazebo from Rock Awnings as a build temporary garage but a crystal dehumidifier machine is essential through autumn winter or you get rainfall from condensation. Eric |
