Title: Washer tank small leak : how to fix ?
Post by: Modano on May 15, 2021, 12:11:16 AM
I have a 1981 Coupé 1300. The windscreen washer tank is this one

It has a little hole on one of the corner, but this isn't the most annoying one.
It has a small leak (not even a hole, rather a plastic deformation) just below the pump (which works fine BTW).

Which product would you suggest to fix that ? I heard a lot of things, and there are lot of products. I'm pretty sure a little bit of something which works nice with plastic should be enough...
And what about the product to fill the upper hole, with maybe some additional fabric like fiberglass ?

Thanks :)

If the upper hole is small then good old fashioned araldite might do and with the deformation round the pump a blob of clear silicone sealer perhaps.

I'd be tempted to use CT1 clear sealant/adhesive after first cleaning up the area with fine sandpaper. CT1 is absolutely the best adhesive of its type I've ever used. It grips like nothing else when cured. Not sure if it's avalable in France, thouh.

Thanks to you :)
Will post pictures here.
This is not a top priority on this car revival though, so I'll do that when all critical stuff is fixed (but I need this for the MOT)
