Title: Ends of dashboard air vents
Post by: Clifford on May 19, 2020, 07:39:12 PM
Hello everyone.
I hope you are keeping well.
I want to remove the air vents at each end of dashboard on my fl Spyder as the left to right control arm has disconnected from the angle flaps on both vents.
I have removed the screw on the vent and have tried to gently lever them out but I don't want to force and break them.
Any advice on how to get them out without breaking please?

Thanks
Clifford

Clifford, you're wise to go easy I find many of these old plastic parts often 'wanting' to break.
It's annoying when you break clips and things best be patient until help arrives,

it should be along shortly...

Good luck.

Slightly old thread, however....

These vents are held in, as mentioned, by the single screw and 'normal'
plastic tabs top and bottom. A good trim removal tool and some
careful cushioning with a strip of thin hard timber on the dash plastic might prevent
damage. Maybe also squirt some lube [ptfe/silicon] to assist.
