Title: Re: engine getting closer Post by: mangocrazy on January 20, 2017, 07:36:05 PM I've already sent some parts off to the bead blasters for treatment, but have mixed feelings about blasting something like the cylinder block with beads or grit. I'm intending to give my block to an engine overhaul place near me and get them to put it in their hot wash tank. After that I may get it vapour blasted as that shouldn't leave any potentially dodgy residue. I'm sure you made sure that nothing unpleasant was left behind, but I'd rather not take any chance I think.
I've seen the effects of vapour blasting on really manky aluminium and the transformation was incredible. But top marks for all the work you've done; that gives me a standard of finish to aim for!
