Title: Inlet manifold info needed
Post by: droptop on April 17, 2012, 11:11:24 AM
Can anyone tell me the distance from mounting face to mounting face for a Beta manifold for twin 40's.
I am looking at modifying a Fiat item so if the offset for the distributor is correct as it seems to be, I just need that measurment to ensure room for the carbs as i don't know if the Fiat item stands out further as there is probably more room in the RWD engine bay.

The distances are not going to be the same top and bottom as the Beta engines are canted at 10 degrees (iirc), but the fiat engines are vertical...

I'm aware of the canted engine in the Beta and am just looking for a rough measurment to make sure there isn't a difference of more than a few mil.
I am looking at cutting the carb mounting flanges off and re-welding them after cutting the open manifold pipe ends to the correct angle to allow the carbs to sit horizontal.
I just don't want to find the whole lot won't physically fit after butchering a Guy Croft Fiat manifold.
