Title: Flange nut Post by: lukasdeopalenica on September 10, 2013, 09:03:07 PM I am regarding to a differential output flange. As this nut is not a hexagonal type how to slacken it in the best way?
Title: Re: Flange nut Post by: HFStuart on September 11, 2013, 07:26:53 PM Do you mean the ring nut that holds the flange to the differential?
If so you either need to drift it off with a punch or make up a tool (perhaps modify a socket) Title: Re: Flange nut Post by: lukasdeopalenica on September 12, 2013, 08:02:43 AM Exactly that nut. Thanks. I reckon it is tighten with a quite high torque.
Title: Re: Flange nut Post by: HFStuart on September 12, 2013, 12:41:59 PM I think you are correct!
It might be worth measuring it - there are some special balljoint sockets and you might get lucky and find one that fits. |
