Hello Everyone,

I am a new member of this forum having just bought my first Beta, a 1600 Spider. I was looking for an interesting soft top and found this car locally. This will be my second Lancia, my first being a Fulvia Zagato. The car is remarkably rust free having been garaged all of its life and was Ziebarted when new which seems to have protected the car from the dreaded tin worm. However, the car has not been used for 18 months so will require some TLC to get it back into a roadworthy condition.

I do not have any knowledge of these cars so i hope i can ask for advice and information in the next few weeks as i return this lovely car back to its former glory.

Welcome and a good choice if a bit unusual in 1600 form.

What year is it and can we have some pics please ?

Hi Guys,

I am going to collect the car tomorrow from its dusty storage lock-up. I will take some photos of the car as it is and post them.

Why is it unusual in 1600 form?

Hello Again,

I now have the car at home and in the garage, removed the dust and started to have a closer look! The brakes are binding, there is no spark at the plugs and there is no petrol in the tank. Lots to do then in the next few days. The plan is to have the car running and MOTd by the end of this month so wish me luck!

Barry , you appear to be a very lucky person indeed.
It looks like a superb car as it is......before you do anything.

Post more pics please...

I do have quite a few parts in my shed for my own Spyder if you do need anything and would be glad to help get another Spyder on the road.

I am not local to you though....nr Guildford in Surrey.

Congratulations anyway and hope she is on the road very soon.

Beautiful car isn't it? It's almost identical to the one I bought three weeks ago except your seats are perfect and mine are far from it. This is my first Lancia and I am finding my way around it with great help from the guys on this forum and on the Lancia Motor Club of Ireland where I live. Most mechanical parts are readily available in my local motor factors and are not expensive. Buy the Haynes manual and it gets easier. Working on the car is easier than I first thought when I opened the bonnet for the first time. Good luck when you need a clutch though, if the manual is correct and I'm sure it is. Anyway, enjoy the car and well done for finding such a beauty!

Thanks for your kind comments. As for value, i think that these cars are very undervalued. I see resto projects for sale for a few hundred pounds but good running cars are difficult to find. A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I would be quite happy if someone gave me £1750 for mine.
