Hello everybody,

I have just joined this forum and and very pleased to see it exists.

I am just about to put my car back on the road (now has MOT). I was checking the thermostat which does not appear to move under temperature. Does anyone have or know of one for sale ?

Your replies will be much appreciated.

Regards,

We have new Beta thermostats on the shelf.

Hi Simon,

If you are refering to the 3-way thermostat, it doesn.t move under pressure, it moves because of the heat/temperature of the water.  There are 2 ways of testing this, one is to run it under a hot boiling water into one of the water holes, then you can see if the spring and mechanism move, otherwise if it is in the car, run it for about 5-10mins if the bottom hose that connects to the radiator is cold, then you will need to change the thermostat.

Hope this helps,
SportyBeta
