S4 2000 IE Hpe “N Group” : the French Lancia main dealer Reseau Chardonnet, in a promotional affair of the Lancia Beta HPE ie, rallied in the 1982 Monte Carlo Rally with two HPE's, finishing second and third place in Group N. , after the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti. They were driven by Chomat (2nd) and Hamer (3rd).

Do any of those Felber conversion cars survive?

I'm not sure it's one of those remember this is an official rally support vehicle I suspect it was made in house

I think you were thinking about this...

Every time I open the boot, I wish for this to happen.  But no.  This never happens to me.

Not necessarily....  The blue Felber is S2, whereas the Felber in Brian Long's book is a converted S1 - even though he states it was for 1976 which was well into S2 by then.  Mizar was shown in 1974, so Felber were an appointed firm of the time.

Maybe it was in-house, or maybe it was just an earlier hatch treatment on that S1 done by Felber, or another firm?

Either way, does it survive?

this is quite an early picture from the time when they rallied both beta and stratos I kind of suspect that the styling department knocked one up as an experiment  as it was a good idea and then the rally department nicked it, later on of course I believe they used HPEs as support vehicles. I rather suspect there will be no documentation or history for this car it's the only picture I've seen with the hatch up,I think all the beta berlina support cars would probably have been this format as you'd struggle to get tyres in a normal beta!!

Lancia Beta Coupe Rallycross car, ran by 4 yamaha FZR 1000 engines, 130hp at the front and 145hp on the rear, developed by the advise of Minardi F1 Engineers, the power to weight ratio was better than a Ferrari F40.
