Good afternoon.
So I finally got around to trying to improve the forward and backward movement of the front seats in my Spyder using the excellent guide I found on this forum. Thank you for that.
As expected, lots of hardened greaseon the slides and rollers gunged up.
Worst of all I have found one of the 4 rubber rollers on the driver's seat had split. Also 2 of the springs on the driver's seat have broken.

Does anyone have any spare rollers they are prepared to let go and a couple of springs or alternatively point me in the direction where I might obtain some?

Cheers

Hi Clifford

Do you have a photo of the spring you are after?

Also the roller what is the diameter of it, I seem to remember I have seen two different sizes or just seen two which look similar but different diameters …..?

Thanks Peter.
I didn't measure the roller at the time as I assumed there was only one size but I need to have the seat out again next week to do some more cleaning up on it and so will measure it then.  I have one of the broken springs, (i guess the other has long disappeared somehow) and so will take a photo.

Clifford,

I think I have what you need if Peter doesn't.

Hi

As I remembered, pretty good for me, there are two different runners. I would gues pre and post facelift. The ones in my pre facelift are approx 26mm in diameter. I have found a couple of them, but need to check if I need any for the HPE.

Hello both.
Nigel those springs look exactly like the ones I need and indeed the roller is the size you show in your photo and so if you are happy to let me have them I would be very grateful.
Peter yours do look bigger and so may be from the earlier models as mine is a 1980 Spyder.

I also noticed today there are other rollers which look similar under the main frame which is bolted to the seat itself and they are clearly shot. I will leave these for the time being as plenty to do already on other parts of the car but this appears to be the part which moves on tilt.

Hi Clifford

That makes sense as the facelift seats must have different runners.

Peter

Just a quick update to this old thread. I had thought the smaller rollers were from facelift cars, but I recently stripped my pre facelift HPE seats and it has the smaller rollers, so it looks like the size of roller goes with the model, not the era.
