Has anyone had any experience of dealing with the metal frames of the quarter lights on an early coupe? Mine superficially look fine until viewed from inside when opened. The corrosion is bad, particularly the lower rail. Expensive to fabricate and complex to restore I imagine. Will trawl ebay, Jono

Hi Jono,
I thought they'd be stainless steel frames. S/S does rust but it's normally
just a surface issue. Can you see missing metal and jagged edges?

Regards,
Nigel

Nigel, yes the that lower glazing rail on both sides is seriously fragile, just a mass of flaky rusty metal. With The rubber sealing parts and chrome exterior trim it all stays put. It's certainly a metal that wants to disolve. I suppose rain gets caught at that point and is trapped. I must not fret about it...

Jono, there should be some windows available.
Maybe put a wanted post on here.
Also, there's a chap, Roy Hodges,[0121 679 8961] who may have, but his stuff is
not always as good as described. But in this case, you can't go too
far wrong.
Good luck, Nigel
