Hi all.
Has anyone managed to find a source for a replacement weather seal for the rear "u" shaped metal hoop which holds the bottom of the soft top to the body behind the rear seats?
I haven't taken the hood off yet, but assume it fits between the back of this hoop and the body to stop water ingress?

Yes a supplier in Italy who also make the main hood seal and the roof seals. Now I just need to find their name! Thanks Eric. I would appreciate the name if you manage to find it.
At the moment I am not clear, having read a manual about exactly how to remove this hoop. I can see a bolt or screw each side of the the car behind the rear internal side panel trims and I think the manual is saying there are alsoan adoring 2 bolts to hold the hoop against the back of the car just in front of the boot aperture.
It's not clear however how to get to them but suspect I have to remove the rear parcel shelf.

Hi

The bolts do need the rear parcel shelf removing to access them. To remove it you probably have to remove the rear seat backs.

Hi

There are more than 2 bolts holding the hoop. They are held by bolts into floating captive nuts (on mine at least) and a number of mine were missing or the bolts sheared off. A previous owner had drilled pilot holes and used self tappers to resolve the problem which works if not so pretty as replacing the captive nuts is a major job.

The bolts are behind the small vertical bit of the rear panel cover

Sadly not with the frame in place but you can see the bolts here. If you take the bolts out you'll find that the captive nuts aren't and they'll happily slide out of reach and are a pig to fish back.

Hi all.
I am sorry to say, even with the links provided by Eric I am struggling to 100% identify the correct seal for the"U" shaped hoop holding the bottom of the soft top at the rear of the soft top to the the body just in front of the boot lid aperture.
This still, after several emails to each of the companies in the links.

So a little further help would be appreciated if possible please.
On my series 2 face-lift I can see what appears to be a simple "U" shaped rubber seal sitting over a lip which sits upwards on the rear edge of the car and then the soft top metal hoop bolts up against it to provide the seal to stop water ingress.
Is what I am looking for as simple as that, or is that maybe what the previous owner had used because they couldn't find the correct seal do you think?

This is the link provided by one of the companies which based on my description,  they think is the correct seal but it might not be and language barriers might be the problem. This is also just for the series one but I would think for this part of the hood it was the same size and shape across all series.

That link is not the seal you are looking for. That one is for the closing section the hood pulls up to. It really is that simple U Channel seal that goes under the hold down half hoop. I think mine came from Cicognani but you could also try seals direct using the measurements from you current part.

That's confirms what I had concluded.
The good thing is I am now fairly well educated on the hood seals and have sources for the others if and when I need them regards.
