Recommended in last week’s issue on the “buy for £12k” feature. About time they woke up to these great cars.

I can only agree that the later ones will be a safer buy. The worst part of all the Betas I have had are the inner front wings. The plastic wheel arch liners are a winner to help this problem, but were only fitted to the facelift cars, not sure if they were fitted from introduction in around 78? The pre facelift tend to have less rust proofing originally and no liners. If however you want the early style interior, then you will probably have more work to do or you could just buy a car from a dry area of the world and probably be limited to LHD…..
