Evening all, I have the carb out for refurb and might take the opportunity to sort out a few other jobs. One is the starter motor.

According to Haynes the only way to remove is by draining the coolant and taking out the radiator and fan.

I'm more than capable of doing that but time at the weekend is in short supply.

So my question is, does the radiator really need to come out?

Hi John

I’ve always removed the radiator to properly access the starter. If you need a replacement, I still have a very good recently reconditioned Beta starter motor available for less than the cost of reconditioning. Just let me know if you’re interested.

Thanks Chris, I'll probably tackle it this weekend.
