i also wish to extend my thanks to Amanda,Mark,Tony,Andy and the rest of the team for organising  the Sunday gathering.
a truly remarkable gathering of betas representing all the series. great to meet up with friends old and new.
one notable highlight for me was Paul Winrow's capri blue 2000fl. coupe. take me back to 1981 and i am viewing a new car.
 thanks again

I could only make the Sunday but what an amazing array of Betas, over 60 in one place including more Volumexes than I knew existed. My thanks go to the committee for organising this fantastic event. The quality of the cars was incredible and left me wanting to build another garage for more Betas. It was great to see so many old friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen in twenty years.

Beta 50th Anniversary weekend, wow what a weekend  Cheesy
Thank you to everyone who came along, with owners coming from all over the UK, France, Holland, Belgium, and Guernsey, also massive thanks to Amanda, Andy, Mark and John for their joint help putting this together.
Also thanks to Betaboyz parts and Auto Italia Magazine for sponsoring the weekend, Auto Italia have said we can have a 3 page feature in their magazine.

We were hoping we might get 50 Beta’s for the 50th unbelievably we managed 65 on Sunday.

We wanted to get some drone footage for the Sunday but we were let down, 10am Sunday morning, a quick phone call From Beta owner Chris Mace to his good friend Nige Forshaw from Rubicon Drones and we were good to go just before midday, huge thanks to Chris and Nige for making this possible, I’m sure you will agree his 4k video sums the day up perfectly Please feel free to share and give his page a like 👍

I can highly recommend Rubicon Drones, very prompt and professional service.

Also from my part a big thanks for organising this great event. I drove around 1.000 kilometers in 36 hours just to be there on Sunday, but I would certainly do it again! Proud to have been the (only) Belgian representative   Cheesy
I too was amazed by the quality of the cars, and enjoyed meeting and talking to some of you in real life.

Also nice to see Nigel, Howard and Claude again after meeting them in France.
And thanks to Peter for bringing his spare Spider rear bumper, it will absolutely improve the look of my Spider!

My HPE performed perfectly the whole trip, of which I enjoyed every minute; what great cars they are, aren't they? 😊

Best regards,
Kevin

Not only does the done footage look brilliant Tony but I think also adds kudos to the event. Great call to have it and big thanks to the guys who stepped in to recover the situation and produce this great footage!

Agreed with the comments above  - it looks like it is very professional. The vertical overhead shots in particular are stunning  - definite wall calendar material.

I know it wasn't free. We're not a 'club' as such but it would be fair to ask people to chip in towards it if they want to. Lets face it for those of use that choose to run second or third 'fun' cars a tenner or so isn't going to break the bank. I'd happily pay that just for access to the stills.

Good call Stuart, I too was thinking that some contribution to the costs would be appropriate, so Tony, what do you think?

Hi
It was not a cost we factored in when we priced the weekend price, when Chris said to me his friend might be available it was too good an opportunity to turn down, and sums up the day perfectly.

The cost for the drone footage was £295, Rubicon Drones sent me the video in 4k plus 40 hi-res aerial photos (around 7mb each) which all look stunning.
I will be putting up a link to my website to download all of the above free of charge, as a thank you to everyone who came along, and made the day it was.
We are happy to cover the above cost, but if anyone wants to make a small donation, feel free to send a forum donation (on the tab above) which will be used to keep to forum running.

Thanks Tony, Amanda, Andy, Mark and John (the Beta 50 team)

Oh , & of course Mark and Debbie!!!  How you juggle full time work with full time Beta work is worthy of a medal!!!

Sorry the pic is squished, I aim to never understand computers or cameras that magically 'work' ? without film. Smiley

Sorry Tim, just seen your photo of you and Jacob, that's brilliant  Cheesy
So pleased you both enjoyed it.

A couple more event reports coming out.

This was last last in last weeks Classic Car Weekly

And this one, in this months Classic and Sports Car Magazine (page 24)

Next month there should be an article on Classic Retro Modern mag, combined with another Beta story (not sure who's car) with a Beta on their cover (issue 17)
Pre order here: https://classicretromodern.com

Then the one I'm really looking forward to seeing is from our weekend sponsor Auto Italia Magazine, possibly next month ?
again will be available on their website, or in your high street.

An article that I wrote about the meet was published in this month's Viva Lancia. Word version attached for anyone who does not get the magazine. Disappointing that they didn't include any of Tony's photos as suggested, but probably partly my fault for referencing the Forum.
