What's the proper way to remove and replace the oil seal shown in the pictures below?

First Read the seal size from the Seal. It will be tiny writing but you need it to order replacements from a bearing supplier. Also measure the thickness of the o Ring and the diameter of the outer seal housing to buy new O rings as well. You simply knock the seal out with a suitably sized large socket and a dead blow hammer. Clean the housing with scotch brite and brake cleaner. Then gently tap the new seal into place with a large socket that engages the edge of the seal. If you have a large vice use that. Even better if you have a press use that.

I one a seal seating set with a lot of different sized seal drivers with is great for the alloy seals which are more easily broken.

The seal only needs to be seated do not over do it and damage the seal.
