Ok., some of you will cringe. I’m going to put in a Ford Focus radiator into my beta coupe.

I have twin side draft Weber’s, GC inlet. Original radiator will not do.

I saw another thread where someone had used a Ford Focus radiator so I’m going to do it.,

Can anyone explain any details, which model to use etc.,

Any advice before I get stuck in will be greatly appreciated.,

Do a search on Focus ST170 radiator. That's what I'm planning to use, following other people's successful use of same.

If you have an I.e. or VX rad to hand you can throw it right up front behind the front grill and sitting on brackets fixed to the front of the front crossmember. I’ve got manifold, supercharger, manifold, 48 DCOE and air box behind my rad. Loads of room.

It was Ian O'Hara in Australia building with the Focus Radiator so maybe send him a PM he may not be on here often.

You have the advantage of at least being on the same continent as Ian (75Coupe), who was the guy who first attempted this upgrade (or so I believe). In the absence of any detailed instructions I think it's a case of buying a rad (they don't seem to be too expensive, even new) offering it up to the car and seeing what needs to be done. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

DexiTroN having the same problem as you.
Running GC inlet with DHLA 45 Carbs and yeah spacing between the carbs and the Rad is simply to tight.

Been trying to find a suitable radiator replacement ideally my goal is to copy what Squiglyzigly has done with his VX rad but use an off the shelf equivalent.
The main problem is the gap isn't that big, I roughly measure it to be 330mm Tall X 635mm Wide.

Ford ST170 radiator is 720mm x 440mm x 140mm which is fine just means you can't have it as far forward which then goes back to lack of space between the rad and the carbs.

I have spent hours trawling the interwebs looking for a suitable replacement, this one is Ford again ironically interested to see what you guys think ... it comes in at    550mm x 110mm x 325mm
