Hi Guys,

Toying with the idea of buying a stainless steel fuel tank to replace my old corroded bucket of a tank..
Wanted to hear peoples thoughts on, drawbacks, Potential problems etc.
Was thinking of having it situated in the boot...

Anyone here done this ?

Hi George

If you are putting it in the boot you might as well buy a fuel cell from Rally Design and have a safe solution. I found a NOS tank and had it stripped before building in a phantom fuel injection fuel cell and pump kit for my FI VX build. I simply could not find an IE Coupe tank good enough to use.

Just be aware if the stripping process uses heat as the enviro strip one does all the pipes fall off because they are soldered! Guess how I know!!

Even for Carb engines you want some form of surge preventing baffles.

Enjoy

Hi Eric,

It's defo something I am considering.
Really don't want to have to go through the effort of sorting the old tank out  Cry
