Hello!
I'm new on here so I thought I'd introduce myself and my car. I joined the forum as I have just bought a gorgeous white 1979 Lancia Beta Coupe. I absolutely love it!

Hi Mario,

Now that does look nice, what is it 1600/2000? and i'm curious too - is that a vinyl roof ?  ( that would be the first one I've seen on a Beta)

How long have you owned the car, it looks very clean - has it had much restoration work/whats its history?

Looking very nice Smiley Reminds me of the 70's/80's Fords like a Mk2 Escort with the vinyl and stripes.

Lancia (England) and Fiat Auto (UK) offered various accessories for the beta including sheepskin seat covers, various side stripes and vinyl roof coverings for the berlina not sure if they did them for coupé as well but quite possible

Yes indeed that IS a vinyl roof! That's how the car originally came and the friend I bought it from re-did it a couple of years ago. It's a 1600 and it hasn't had a lot of resto done at all. Overall it's very original and has just been taken care of. It's pretty clean apart from the bonnet and boot, which aren't too bad considering the car is 30 years old.
I've had the Lancia for 11 days now. My beloved mk4 escort went into resto about 15 months ago and I bought a mk2 XR2 to use while the escort was away. However I took the XR2 to be MOTd last month and I was looking at another resto to get a ticket on it! As a result, I now have this lovely Lancia!  Smiley

looks very nice and when fully sorted a whole lot better than an escort, if you haven't already getting 4 wheel tracking done is normally a revelation even if it already appears to handle well.  Betas were remarkable cars in their day. 1600 lacks a bit of torque but is so smooth and rev hungry very nice engine for a coupé

Totally agree about the 1600 engine rossocorsa. Thanks for the 4 wheel tracking tip, will defo get that done. Not planning on doing too much to this car at all. It doesn't need it  Smiley
The Lancia is amazing but it will never be better than my Escort which now looks as though it's just driven out the showroom. I saw it yesterday for the first time since it went for resto, I was speechless. It was my Gran's car, it has a geat deal of sentiment attached  Smiley I took photos yesterday but don't know the feelings about posting pics of a non Lancia on here!  Cheesy
