Can anyone tell me if Thema brakes will fit onto the front of a VX? The standard brakes have never been very good in any of the Betas I've had so I'd like to uprate them if possible. Failing that, does anyone have any very good front calipers which are cheap!

Thanks.

nowt wrong with beta brakes I wouldn't get involved in the complications of a different set up just refurbish what you have, as they will be at least 25 years old a full rebuild/replacement session will probably do the trick don't forget that betas have some sort of superior super-duplex set up which was abandoned, presumably for cost reasons, on delta onwards

I would agree - theres nothing wrong with Beta brakes, I've found all of the Betas I've had had far superior brakes to other cars of that era.  Its likely that the seals in the brakes are suffering due to age or the fluid has absorbed water. I would first be looking at flushing the brake fluid through and putting new fluid into the system, if that did not cure the issue then I'd have them professionally refurbished and new seals fitted.  As Rossocorsa says, the dual circuit system was dropped after the Beta range so that will complicate matters and these cars are 25+ years old so they are allowed to be a bit tired :-)

Just backing up whats been said, i've got no problem with the standard beta setup. By flushing the system through improved mine no end, as well as a caliper refurb, new drilled / grooved discs, tarox pads and some goodridge braided lines this sufficiently stops the car while on track, see... http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=369.0 and http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=278.0
