Any tips on getting this off? Might get some touch up and the paint place suggested leaving them the flap to do some testing.

Vertical pin I can see, not so sure how it is secured. Appears flared at base. Tricky to get anything on it anyway.

Just about to remove mine for the same reason.  Last time I simply removed the flap complete with the spring hinge itself by simply undoing the two mounting bolts on the B post side of the recess. Not sure if this is the same on earlier cars?

There are different designs.

The only way mine came out was cutting the pin with a dremel  - it looked like it had been fitted before the assembly was welded to the inside of the wing. I could see no way to get it out otherwise.

I think mine is the latter type described by Stuart and looks a bit of a mystery..

It can stay on for now until I can get a new pin made- just moved lathe and have yet to re-arrange garage. Impulse ebay buy this week makes space a premium.

Bike- 1961 Matchless, first foray into classic bikes. Probably something else I won't have time to use!
