Met a nice chap on the stand at the NEC  - Walt from New Jersey in the US.

He's owned his Spider from new and is now looking for a new hood.

He asked what the OE spec for them was  - were they all mohair / canvas or vinyl or was there a combination? I didn't know for sure. Does anyone on here?

Hi Stuart

No authority, but never heard of any original that was not vinyl.

My 81 Spider had it's original hood and was a woven fabric......wouldn't say canvas. The tonneau that covered it was vinyl.

My 81 also has what looks like canvas with the vinyl cover. I think it's referred to as mohair. Mine's definitely original.
