Last weekend I managed to do something I've wanted to do for a long time - attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed. There was an enormous amount to see on both 2 and 4 wheels, but here is a selection of Lancias that I stumbled across in various parts of the estate, in the followin order...

Lancia Aprilia

Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet 'Bocca'

That grille...

Lancia Aurelia B24 S Spider America

Lancia Flaminia Sport

Lancia Stratos

Lancia Delta Integrale S4

A good time was had by all...  Grin

Fabulous. The last one is Delta S4, the one that closed down group B.

Hi

Nice photos, interesting that all the older cars are black or very dark colour, love the lines on the Astura.

Interesting front on the Stratos, no lights? Not usual, but is a circuit only car or was it street legal?

Good point, Peter. I must confess I'd overlooked that, athough it's a glaring omission now I look at it again. I can only assume it's a track day car, which also probably means it's a kit car/replica. I didn't actually speak to the driver as he was in conversation with other folk most of the time, and I was in a restricted area (track holding area) when I really shouldn't have been...

It's because it's the Stratos RX

From the running listing:
Quote
Franz Wurz
Three-time Euro Rallycross champion ('74, '76 and '82)
Driving his 1976 championship winning Lancia Stratos up the hill

The car in period:

That'll teach me to either buy a programme or look more closely at the running order online. Thanks for that information - I didn't know there was a rallycross variant. The car was immaculate, so had obviously benefitted from a full restoration. It was without doubt the four-wheeled star of the show for me. The two-wheeled star was the George Beale replica of the Honda 297cc six cylinder racer from the mid-late 60s. What a sound that made.
