Hi all, Alberto here from Turin  Wink
Born on a Fulvia, raised on several Fiats and Citroen , I was driving some Vw, Opel and BMW too until 2001, the year I bought my first Classic: A 1971 Fulvia 1,3S coupè like my dad's when I was born. Then in 2013 it was time to add a second Lancia to the Stable, and it was a quite pristine (but still fairly mad...) 1984 Gamma Coupè 2000 (the tax friendly version for Italy). After my first British car in late 2014 (a 1992 Mini Cooper Spi) I finally bought a 1979 1,6 ltr HPE for last Christmas, quite enjoyed by our very Thotos during GammaQuaranta (well, Gilbert didn't do it till here  Angry ...)
Still some things to Fix in the HPE,  but it's a reliable and fun drive, that sometimes I alternate even for commuting to work to my everyday Skoda Octavia RS...

Fully restored body... It took a while and also some money, but the result pleases me Wink

Nice 131 Racing in the photo above!
Here's Alberto's HPE with yours truly  Grin That was taken back in April in Turin and before the full body restoration. It looked and was very good then so must be perfect now!  Cheesy

Body is perfect (wallet no more...) but the car has still a short distance to go: Still to change Bushes and Steering Rack. Plus, I'd like to find a 2ltr engine 😉!

SpeedAl,
In my humble opinion, the 1600 is a much greater engine than the 2000,being square [bore and stroke the same]
therefore much smoother.
I've owned both in the past and would always recommend the 1.6.

1984 2.0 Carb HPE [ex Aus] Grigio Finanza.
2007 Mazda 6 2.3 [current daily, highly recommended]
The past:
1980 2.0 HPE White in South Africa [hope it survives!]
1976 1.6 Coupe Lancia Blu [PFG 76R] [probably deceased]
oh,and an Uno Turbo 1997 also in SA [stolen, never recovered]
