Hi All

well it has been a long time coming, but finally I have (sort of) retired and as promised to myself I now have to get on with putting the Spyder back together.

A bit of history for those not around or who have forgotten (most I assume).

I bought my Spyder in early 2010 and sent it off to have the bodywork 'tidied' up. This revealed a whole load of the (what I now know to be) usual rust problems, inner & outer front wings, rear turrets and floors, door skins & frames needing sorting. This as well as a complete respray was sorted for August that year and I started on what I thought would be a simple job to reinstall all the parts we had taken off. As I dug deeper I ended up removing many more parts which I should have in the first place, replacing all the electrical spade and bullet connectors, painting underneath etc. So we ended up after a few years with a car having a few parts still attached. Then I decided that I needed to concentrate on work to allow me to retire around now, so all came to a halt as I really was not that interested in doing and hour or so here and there on it.

So we now end up here now with a car where I essentially have pretty much all of the parts and just need to put it back together again. This is my starting point and I hope to have it all together by begin of November, so no pressure there....

Here are a couple of photos of where I am starting from. I had previously dropped, cleaned and painted the fuel tank and cleaned and painted a lot of the items I have removed.

Wish me luck....

Peter

Thanks all, it has been a long time coming, but hoping to have some serious time dedicated to it over the summer.
