I joined the group when I bought a 1975 beta coupe. I bought it unsighted and after I got it home realized its was too far gone(rust).
Good news is I have just bought a 1982 beta coupe 1600. This one I drove home.
More pics to come

Hi Rossocorsa
Looks like the original colour was a metallic blue. Built by TAK in South Africa.  I will definitely have it re spayed. Undersided on the colour though. So far I have change the back left break caliper from the scrap lancia I had and am waiting for a mechanic to helicoil one of the plugs on the head, then I can take it for a run. It's been 22 years since my last drive in a Beta

Do you have a pic of the TAK chassis plate as well? Always interesting to see this quirky stuff. I think it will have been built or at least the CKD kit assembled well before 82.
I think the current colour is  good on a coupé even if not original

Ah I see your  note that this is the only plate, I think that will have been assembled in Italy. Build date is January 1981

I'm quite sure that is a Beta colour.  My father had a 1976 Berlina identical to the Autocar cover car that year

Ok so I've replaced a leaking water pump. But the compression test shows that there is something wrong with cylinder 2 and 3. Less than 2bar from each. I was kinda expecting that. So the question now is- do I rebuild the 1600 or the 2000 I have from my previously scrapped beta.

Anyone out there replaced a 1600 with a 2000. Anything unexpected I should know about.

Only issue I can think of is final drive on 1600 is lower than 2000. So you may wish to change that as well to improve high speed cruising unless you want improved acceleration. P

Plenty on Ebay over here usually, though maybe more difficult in SA?
