hi there, wondering if you guys can assist me in understanding the codes and numbers listed on the production plate.  obviously understand the vin number is top.  guessing the E3 has something to do with air con but interested to confirm and also understand what the codes  actually mean.  your assistance would be much appreciated. cheers

Hi Dominic

Decoding the VIN number is pretty straight forward

828 - Beta

B - Series 2

C - Coupe

1 - 2 litre

Rest of number is production number of car, I think they started from 1000

The rest I have no idea on.....

thanks peter - yes the vin number info is the easiest to understand

really interested to know if anyone knows what the rest of the codes mean?Huh?Huh?

Below the VIN number there is a number for spares, then homologation numbers (E).
