Can anyone add to the list on the line below? I know I'm a sad case but I've been trying to build up a list of the alleged 150 UK vx coupes, not done too bad so far but some cars clearly had cherished numbers at some point so may have been duplicated, also some records these have been lifted from seem to have possible typos

https://www.dropbox.com/s/46b1pwfk1kk28y8/vx%20coupe%20updated%20apr%2015.xls?dl=0

Hope the link works having problems copying Dropbox links for some reason

The link doesn't work for me. It says I may need to sign in?

I'll have a look for VX Coupes listed on the LMC Database, but that is all self declared, so probably pretty limited.

updated the link does it work now?
I built up most of the list quite quickly by trawling old information and then cross referencing with dvla road tax site and other publicly available searches such as www.cartell.ie occasionally another car pops up on ebay, in old photos on the 'net etc.

Good to hear, the status listed on the spread sheet is really just a snapshot of whenever I added an entry I've been compiling this for some time. When I've time I will add month and year of build (if I have the chassis number) and first registration(if it still shows on dvla)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but just wondered if anyone has tried to do this for the any other model, e.g. Spyders in UK?

Never heard of it, looks like you might have volunteered ;-) I started on the vx coupes list partly because I knew there shouldn't be too many but also out if an idle curiosity but then found that I could list far more than I expected! The irony is of course that with probably one press of the button dvla could list this info in a couple of minutes.

I made a start on a list for all. Mainly this was to keep track of the cars that pop up on eBay etc but it could be fleshed out to include all those we're aware of without too much trouble.

I've included as much data as seemed sensible:

1st Registered
Chassis No
Engine No
Registration
Model
Engine
Transmission
Series
Colour
Mileage
Status (ie For sale, In use, SORN, Scrapped)
Condition
Modifications
Notes
Current Owner
Owners Contact   Location (Country + County
Last change in Status
Advertised Price

Not all data is available for all cars but that should cover most eventualities. I'd thought of asking Tony to put an online form together but people could just as easily pm me with details of cars.

Thoughts?

NB I've decided it should be called the 'Betabase' !

Hi Stuart, you may remember back in 2011 we talked about creating a database.
I knocked up a test form at the time see http://www.betaboyz.myzen.co.uk/betabase.htm

Just tested it and it seems to work, emails both you and me the filled in form.
I can edit the page to suit, let me know what people think

Cheers Tony

I'd forgotten you'd got as far as doing the form for it.

Let me have a look at that and get back to you.

I can only find six VX Coupes on the LMC database, all of which you will be glad to hear are on your list and stated as on the road. According to the database A98CDB was however exported to Australia at some point.

Thanks Neil
Most of my info was pulled from old LMC registers, I did not record owners though just reg numbers from which I could then find colour on dvla ( if they are still listed some have disappeared) and could confirm as a VX by also checking on cartel.ie I've lost the link where I pulled the chassis numbers from but it was some sort of support site for motor factors that allowed you to look up reg numbers and find vehicle details, not 100% as not all cars were listed there.

Hi all,
I am a proud owner of a VX coupe and have just read your thread regarding listing them all.
Thought id just let you know she is still with us.
Her Reg is B190 VCX, have owned her since Oct 2009 but had been unable to get her back on the road until now.
She goes in for an mot tomorrow ( tue 7/7/2015 ) after having new outer sill, loads of rust removed and repaired on inner sill,
welding to the square locating plate for the assembly line.
New discs and pads allround, couple of new brake pipes, set of new tyres and a clean out of the carb.
Previous works have been carb rebuild, new cam belt and tensioner and a couple of oil leaks fixed.
She has 79,000 miles on the clock and is in ok condition, will hopefully be able to use her at long last for the remainder of the summer.
Plan to get a bit done each year, ( other outer sill and inner sill etc ) as the wallet permits.
Hope this helps your list.
Regards
Lee

Great number plate for a VX!

Agreed Neil, nice to see another one alive and well. On the subject of number plates in an attempt to inspire me to finish mine I bought the reg A2 VXB for it (currently it's A628TYK) might still be some time before it is finished though.....

Cheers for the number plate flattery guys.
It came with the car, not sure if its original.
No news on mot yet, fella really busy at mo, fingers crossed for this weekend.
Will keep you posted.

i noticed on the members car page a black coupe with what looks like delta integrale alloys, can anyone help with the wheel size etc, it also looks like it has been lowered, liked the look, liked the fact they are possibly lancia alloys, can anybody shed any light on this set up please, would also like to be able to bolt the original cromodoros  back on, any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

B190VCX is now on the road!

Apologies for not posting sooner, couple of small issues delayed the MOT.
Collected her yesterday (1/8/2015), massive smile, massive thank-you to the fella that repaired all the rot ( Mark @ IRS ) and ironed out all the niggles.
Possibly been 20 yrs since ive driven a Beta Coupe thats running right and its brought back all the memories.
Loads more to tackle but will carry out as much as the wallet permits each year to bring her back to a decent standard, at present just happy shes back on the road and useable.
Roll on the weather, sun and more sun, so i can enjoy it as much as poss.

Regards
