The worrying thing is that was it not the case that they had to be road worthy when chopped in? Even in 2009 Who the hell would scrap a beta fulvia or integrale for a £2k discount that they could have saved anyway by buying a prereg or a no part ex discount? (Or flogging the car!)

Interesting to see they scrapped lots of Citreons a few Citoeons and even one Sitreon.

You get the impression it wasn't exactly policed carefully.

I hope that some of the cars scrapped had very hooky MOTs. If they were genuinely roadworthy they didn't deserve to die.

I know a chap who works at the local Subaru dealership who was mortified at the cars that were being chopped in and scrapped.  he even tried to buy a couple and keep one for off-roading but the scheme insisted that they were destroyed Sad
