Hi Guy's,

I have been chasing an intermittent fault that briefly causes a flat spot/loss of power at high demand...full throttle after a roundabout or full throttle for an overtake.  This only happens when the car has travelled at least 20 miles (normal working temp) and is intermittent.

My attention was focused on the L-Jetronic system cutting the supply to the fuel pump via a faulty dual relay/airflow meter/ecu, but all have been replaced with a known good spare.

I'm now looking at the ignition system.  Are these units prone to failing? Is my unit the correct unit (MED 401A)? Does anyone have a spare unit?
I have noticed a couple of times the tacho taking a dip, although not at flat spot period.

Hope that makes sense...any thoughts.

John.

Update...this problem has not occurred since the installation of a "in head thermostat"...which involved the removal and re-instatment of some L-Jetronic sensors.

Hmm...watch this space!
