The gasket between the manifold and downpipe failed at the weekend on my 1978 s2 pre-facelift spider 2 liter, and when I took a look, the studs/nuts look like they're never going to seperate and one stud appears to be sheared off so I figure I'll need to replace the manifold.
I have one but I'm not sure of its origin. It came off what turned out to be a Montecarlo head which had VX cam boxes and cams fitted so I've no idea what it was actually fitted to!
The part number cast on it is 82300503
I also have a 1979 (despite being first regd. in '82) 2.0 coupe so maybe that manifold would suit?
Thanks in advance for helping cure the less than sweet sounding exhaust note

Hi

The parts manual I have shows the exhaust manifold as 82300504 and is the same for 1600 and 2000 model engines on the pre f/l.

Thanks Peter.
Looks like I need a manifold so, as my other ones are off facelift cars although I could probably use the corrosponding downpipe.
I have to admit to enjoying the "hardship" of having a car that sometimes needs repair because my daily car is ultra reliable and my van is disposable (Renault) and not worth the cost of a replacement clutch Grin

Hi

I would have thought the carb facelift exhaust manifolds would be the same if not the later ones as well?

As posted in Parts Wanted, what engine would exhaust manifold part number 82301243 be originally fitted to?

Any clues as to where that manifold came from?

From memory it came from an S2FL Coupe. There was some confusion over whether it had a 1600 or 2000 engine.
