So a few happy moments lately.

The headlight switch assembly that I bought at ridiculous cost from Italy turned out wrong, but I was able to scavenge yet another used one from the donor car nearby. The Italian assembly is on its way back to seller (STILL in transit) so there's still hope of a new one.
The muffler shop who finally silenced the exhaust leak also gave me the name of a local Fiat factory trained mechanic. He sorted out the linkage issue that the shop may or may not have caused, and his rates are really reasonable. Plan to essentially keep him on retainer, with a job or two every month till the "priority list" he made me is taken care of, then move on to "nice to haves" like heat and A/C.
Wheel bearings get done next week, and maybe in time for the Best of France and Italy show in LA!
