Can anyone give me a definite weight for the HPE 2000IE  Huh?

I've seen a weight of 1067kg on websites, but in Brian Long's book it gives a figure of 1110kg; i would have thought this to be accurate  Huh?

If you wondered why i'm asking, my cars been stripped and now ways in at 1016kg.  Smiley

I think the 1110Kg is accurate for a 2000ie HPE.

The 1067Kg is likely the Italian 1600 HPE version, which would have had PAS so would have weighed slightly more thank a UK spec car anyway.

94kg weight loss sounds about right for a strip out, I did this with an HF4WD and replacing all glass with perspex, except front screen, was the best weight saver.

I'll get me anorak! Wink

I would have thought brian long would be right and it means i've lost more kg's than i originally thought  Grin
When they do these kerb weights is that also including all fluids, oil, full tank of petrol etc. or dry  Huh? just for interest.

Yep, Kerb weight includes all oils and fluids required to enable the car to operate, fuel tanks are full.

So effectively the heaviest the car would be without any driver, passenger or cargo.

Just to muddy the water even more - Haynes give 1060kg but that's UK spec HPE carburettor.
Later cars have a larger radiator, bigger bumpers, fuel pump etc etc which add a little more weight.
If you are talking about Brian Longs "blue" book on the Lancia beta range the ie HPE on page 69 is in Cwt so 22.3Cwt = 1132.8kg.

Best place to check is in the blue Lancia hand book that comes with the car - if you have one.
Then again that may even be wrong!

Add all the weights you have seen and divide by however many to get an average - best your going to get  Wink

I just dug out my Lancia Blue handbook and at states 1000kg for a Coupe and 1060kg for the HPE - though it does not state whether its for an IE or not.

Booklet was printed in 1981.

More than likely carburettor if printed in 1981, that covers "W" to "X" reg? - ah that brings back memories!
"W" = 01 August 1980 to 31 July 1981,
"X" = 01 August 1981 to 31 July 1982.
Earliest IE i have seen is "Y" 01 August 1982 to 31 July 1983, although i have seen a couple of carb models as well.
Anybody got a genuine earlier one?

At least your book weight tallies with the Haynes manual!

I'll just add, mine's an IE 1982 Y reg. From everything i've seen the figure is around 1060kg-1067kg, but no definate weight for each version/series car  Undecided, so i would presume the figure of 1100kg, would be nearer the mark, with the IE's rap around bumpers and extra little bits.
