Is Dot 4 synthethic fluid suitable?

DOT 4 is a mineral base not silicone base and it is stil available
DOT 5 is silicone based
DOT 5.1 is (I think) synthetic non silicone and might be OK - Please check this before using it though!

DOT 5.1 is a thinner mineral fluid designed for ABS and will work fine having a higher boiling point as well. However careful choice of the right DOT4 fluid can give a harder pedal with better feel and a similar high boiling point. After a lot of trial on Montecarlos where brakes are a bit of an issue ATE super blue and Motul RBF600 are good choices but there are several other good choices.
